In 2022, a survey conducted among New Zealanders revealed that those between the age of 18-39 years accounted for the largest share of respondents saving to purchase a home in New Zealand, at around 36 percent. In comparison, only three percent of New Zealanders aged 60 years and over were saving up to buy a home.
