In 2021, the region of Northern Africa had the highest volume of crude oil production in Africa. It produced around 3.26 billion barrels of crude oil per day. Conversely, the region with the lowest oil production was Eastern Africa. On a global scale, Africa accounts for one of the lowest shares of global oil production.
