Supply costs made up more than half of the residential electricity bill in the country that year, and increased by approximately 30 euros per megawatt-hour year-over-year. Distribution expenses and the value-added tax were the other major electricity expenses for households in France. The price of electricity for households in France has been increasing continuously over the last decade.
