Sale of pension fund assets in the Netherlands 2019-2022
In the first quarter of 2021, Dutch pension funds began selling holdings of equity-based securities inclusive of funds. A rebalancing trend begins to appear as Dutch pension funds continue to add additional holdings of bonds with the largest investment being in the fourth quarter of 2021. The pension fund continues to sell equity and fund securities with 54.4 billion euros being added to the pension funds outflow for equities and fund securities alone in the second quarter of 2022. Large-scale rebalancing can have a noticeable impact on the fund flow of securities such as the sales of alternative investment funds in Europe.
