According to a survey that was conducted in August 2022 in Japan, over 45 percent of respondents stated that they would use televisions as information method in the immediate aftermath of a large-scale disaster. Twitter followed as a preferred information channel, with around 38 percent.
Since Japan is situated along the Ring of Fire, an area where several tectonic plates meet, it is vulnerable to natural disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic eruptions.
