According to a survey con content creators conducted in May 2022 in nine global markets, the majority of content creators were employed full-time. Around seven in 10 content creators in South Korea were full-time employees, while less than two in 10 percent were students, pensioners, homemakers, or unemployed. In comparison, roughly 60 percent of content creators in the United States were full-time employees, while 25 percent were either students or homemakers, retired or unemployed. In Australia, 20 percent of respondents were employed part-time, while in Brazile around 16 percent of creators were self-employed full-time.
