According to the results of a 2023 survey, there was a gap of approximately 16 percentage points in the support of nuclear energy in the United States when Republicans and Democrats were compared. The respondents identifying themselves as Republicans represented the largest share of supporters for nuclear energy as of 2023, at 62 percent. Compared to 2010, the opinion on the use of nuclear energy in the U.S. worsened regardless of the political orientation.
