A survey conducted among New Zealanders in May 2022 revealed that the leading reason for shopping online among consumers in New Zealand is to save time, with 70 percent of respondents indicating this. The main reason for shopping in-store among participants was due to a greater opportunity for social interaction. Shopping in-store was on average preferred, with 65 percent of respondents reporting that shopping offline made for a better overall shopping experience.
