In 2021, the furnishings segment spent approximately 20 million U.S. dollars on advertising in newspapers in South Africa, up 26 percent from 16 million dollars in the previous year. Despite the annual growth, the 2021 figure amounted to less than two-thirds (63 percent) of the 32-million-dollar newspaper ad spending recorded in 2019.
