In 2021, the leisure products segment spent 2.5 million U.S. dollars on newspaper advertising in South Africa, up 21 percent from 2.07 million dollars a year earlier. Despite the annual growth, the 2021 figure amounted to little more than one-third (36 percent) of the 6.93-million-dollar newspaper ad spending recorded in 2019, before the pandemic.
