In 2021, the entertainment and leisure segment spent 3.13 million U.S. dollars on cinema advertising in South Africa, down about 20 percent from the 3.9-million-dollar cinema ad spend recorded a year earlier. The 2021 figure amounted to only 23 percent of the 13.75 million dollars spent in 2019, before the pandemic.
