According to a survey conducted among Vietnamese households in 2021, traditional trade remained the most preferred retail channel for alcohol purchases among respondents in Vietnam, as suggested by 72 percent of them. Traditional trade retail refers to channels such as local mom-and-pop shops and wet markets, as opposed to more modern trade establishments such as mini marts or supermarkets.
