Wheat prices in Turkey rose by nearly 53 percent in local currency terms over the period from February to October 2022, which was the highest growth rate among the regions presented. To compare, in the European Union (EU) on average, wheat prices increased by over 29 percent. The fact that the United States saw a less significant price surge was related to depreciation of domestic currencies of the other countries.
