Revenue of organic food and beverages market FY 2020, by company

In financial year 2020, Organic India had the highest revenue amounting to 3.43 billion Indian rupees among the organic food and beverage companies in India. In comparison, Organics Nations had a revenue of 31 million Indian rupees during the same year.

Organic farming

Due to its diverse agro-climatic conditions, India has a great deal of potential to produce all types of organic products. It came as no surprise, therefore, that India leads the global organic food-producing countries with 1.6 billion organic producers. Furthermore, the total area under organic farming was 9.12 million hectares in 2022, with Chhattisgarh having the highest area under organic agriculture followed by Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Organic food market trends

The market for organic food and beverages is promising and rising in India. The market size was estimated to amount to 64 billion Indian rupees in 2025. Consumer knowledge of the advantages of nutrient-rich foods that boost immunity is growing in India. Hence, consumers increasingly believe that organic foods are healthier and of higher quality. Moreover, vegetables and fruits were the most preferred organic food products in 2021.
