In 2022, the trading value of stocks at the Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) amounted to over 56 trillion New Taiwan dollars. It was by far the most traded type of security on the bourse. The TWSE was also a very popular destination for overseas traders whose ownership accounted for around one-quarter of all shares on the exchange.
