In 2022, 971 companies were listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange with a combined market value of over 44 trillion New Taiwan dollars. The TWSE was one of two of the region's bourses, the other being the much smaller Taipei Exchange which has a market capitalization of almost 4.4 trillion yuan.
