In a 2022 survey of Chief Information Security Officers (CISO) in Canada, 87 percent stated that employees in their organizations were aware of their role in protecting the organization against cyber threats. This figure increased almost twice compared to 2021, making employees in Canada the most aware of their role when compared to the other markets. Australia ranked second, with 75 percent of survey respondents making such a statement. Overall, the global average of employees' understanding of their role in combating cyber incidents, according to CISOs, was 60 percent as of 2022.

According to the source, respondents represent organizations of 200 employees or more across different industries in 14 countries: U.S., Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, the Netherlands, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Japan and Singapore. The survey involves 100 respondents from each country.
