In 2021, there were 281 financing events and eight initial public offerings in the Chinese robotics industry. In total, they raised almost 74 billion yuan which was the highest value in the industry's history. While the investment value increased over the past years, enterprises appeared to prefer to raise capital outside of the capital markets as the number of IPOs decreased from 52 in 2016 to only eight in 2021.
