In 2023, around 66,475, experienced intimate partner violence from someone that they were previously in a relationship with in Germany. 51,874 people also experienced abuse from their spouse.

From 2017, the categories “threats, stalking, coercion (psychological violence)” and “deprivation of liberty”, “pimping” and “forced prostitution” were included in the report and the evaluation of intimate partner violence has also included a consideration of "disability (physical/mental)" and "frailty/age/illness/injury".
