Between 2021 and 2022, about 6.4 percent of individuals in Italy experienced depression symptoms. According to the data, Sardinia was the region with the largest share of the population aged 18-69 years declaring to have suffered from depression symptoms during the two weeks preceding the interview, amounting to almost 12 percent. Conversely, just 3.1 percent of individuals residing in the Autonomous Province of Bolzano reported suffering from depressive symptoms during this period.
