According to a survey conducted in 2022 among individuals belonging either to private companies or to local public entities in Japan, almost 63 percent of the respondents intended to use local 5G in combination with Internet of Things (IoT) technology. At the same time, half of the respondents stated that they wanted to use such wireless networks in combination with artificial intelligence (AI) technology.

*The sample size consisted of 2,032 individuals from private companies and 158 individuals from local public entities.
The survey question asked the respondents what technology or information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure they wanted to use in combination with local 5G and other wireless systems and networks.
