Israel's gross spending on research and development (R&D) has increased significantly since 2020, set to amount to over 18.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2022. Lebanon was forecast to have the lowest R&D expenditure in the Middle Eastern region in 2022, around 0.05 billion dollars, the same spend as in the previous two years.
