Favorite horror movie subgenres among adults in the in the U.S. 2022
As of October 2022, around 55 percent of adults surveyed in the United States said they liked or loved psychological horror films. The same share of interviewees reported a fondness for comedic horror movies. Meanwhile, 54 percent of respondents reported disliking or hating horror films characterized by gore, whereas 53 percent expressed aversion to slasher movies — films where a killer stalks and tries to murder other characters. According to another study conducted around that same time, "Halloween" and "Friday the 13th" were the
