In 2023, mobile app users in Europe downloaded over 16.6 billion mobile games on their smartphones, making it the most popular app category by far for users in the region during the examined year. Photo and video apps were downloaded approximately 1.83 billion times onto smartphones in Europe, while utilities apps were downloaded over 1.57 billion times. Entertainment apps reported approximately 1.45 billion downloads during the last examined year.
