According to a survey conducted in Japan in March 2022, a majority of 51.2 percent of respondents ate seafood because of the omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA contained in fish meat that cannot be produced by the body. Over 50 percent of respondents believed that DHA and EPA helped in cancer prevention, lifestyle-related diseases and dementia.
