In 2023, the total number of foreign tourists arriving in Turkey added up to nearly 49.21 million. In July 2024, the number of arrivals peaked at over 7.3 million tourists. The number of international visitors in Turkey reached more than six million in September 2024. Due to travel restrictions during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the number of foreign tourists arriving in Turkey plunged significantly, especially in April and May 2020.
