The primary reasons for internet usage among children in Russia were education-related, with around 86 percent of students aged below 15 years old browsing the web for homework or school projects in 2022. Two years prior, the schools switched to online teaching during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. Thus, the share of children using the internet to attend online classes reached almost 69 percent in 2020.
