In 2021, online shoppers worldwide living in urban areas are more likely to purchase directly from brands (49 percent). According to findings by Capgemini, approximately 36 percent of suburban customers also engage in direct-to-consumer (D2C) shopping. In rural areas, however, only 30 percent of respondents shop from D2C sites.
