Overall, the more the years of schooling of the urban active population in Argentina, the lower the unemployment for people who are willing to work. The open unemployment rate among those with 13 years of schooling or more in 2021 stood at 4.2 percent, less than half the rate of the active population with zero to five years of schooling. By contrast, the case in Mexico is the contrary: people with more years of schooling have a higher open unemployment rate.

This indicator considers that the unemployed urban population includes those who have not worked but have looked for an employment and whose have looked for a work by first time within the urban economically active population aged 15 years and over.
