Since 2020, Thailand's research and development (R&D) expenditure on its gross domestic product (GDP) has remained constant at one percent. This was forecast to remain the same in 2022. Compared to other countries in Southeast Asia, Singapore had the highest R&D expenditure as a share of GDP.
