Between 2020 and 2022, China, India, and Turkey increased their imports of seaborne crude oil from Russia. Especially India doubled down on its imports of Russian crude oil: while between January and August 2021, India imported some three million metric tons of seaborne crude oil from Russia, India's imports grew to about 20 million metric tons in the same period in 2022.
