According to a 2021 survey, nearly twice as many young voters would prefer if elected officials prioritized compromise over their own policy preferences, with 43 percent reporting this to be the case. There is only a small difference between Republicans and Democrats when given the choice between compromise and confrontation, with both parties significantly favoring compromise.
