Combined emissions of 15 of the world's largest meat and dairy companies were estimated at more than 700 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e) in the financial year 2021. This amount exceeds the emissions of some of the biggest and most polluting fossil companies, such as Petrochina, ExxonMobil, and BP.
