Combined emissions of 15 of the world's largest meat and dairy companies were estimated at more than 700 million metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (MtCO₂e) in the financial year 2021. This amount exceeds the emissions of some of the biggest and most polluting fossil companies, such as Petrochina, ExxonMobil, and BP. The global food system is a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.

* The 15 global meat and dairy companies include Danish Crown, JBS, Marfrig, Tyson, WH Group, Arla, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), Danone, DMK Group, Fonterra, FrieslandCampina, Lactalis, Nestlé, Saputo, and Yili. Of these companies, five are meat corporations and 10 are dairy corporations.
Emissions are estimates for operations for the years 2020 and 2021.
