Tone of online news about Zelenskyy by country 2023

The tone of online articles mentioning the Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was largely negative in 2023, with a global average sentiment score of -2.16. That was due to the fact that most publications mentioning Zelenskyy were related to the Russia-Ukraine war that began in February 2022. Zelenskyy's score was lower than that of several other global leaders, such as Olaf Scholz and Xi Jinping. Among the countries presented, the most negative tone of articles mentioning Zelenskyy was recorded in the U.S. at -2.87 in 2023, while the highest scores were measured in Norway and Poland, at -0.08 and -0.52, respectively. For comparison, the sentiment score of the online articles mentioning Putin in Norway stood at -3.39 during the same period.
