The ending stocks of crude oil in the Strategic Petroleum Reverse (SPR) in the United States amounted to around 364.24 million barrels in the first week of April 2024. This was still lower than pre-Russia-Ukraine war levels as the U.S. looked to combat potential fallout from sanctions on Russian oil. Consequently, stocks have fallen to levels not seen since the 1980s.
