As of August 2022, ahead of Nigeria's 2023 general elections, the majority of individuals in the country who partook in the continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise, which ended on July 31, 2022, were students. This referred to 4.5 million registrations. Other leading groups in the registration included individuals engaging in business and farming or fishing activities. Overall, more than12 million new national voter registrations were recorded during the exercise.
