By October 2022, Luxembourg had already reduced its natural gas consumption by over 15 percent. The average consumption in October was 696 gigawatt hours, meaning the goal of reducing it was 592 gigwatt hours. In October of 2022, natural gas consumption was only 443 gigawatt hours.
