In September 2022, comedian and TikTok personality Khaby Lame counted over 148 million followers, followed by social media personality and influencer Charlie D'Amelio. In June 2022, Khaby Lame surpassed D'Amelio in terms of followers count on TikTok. However, D'Amelio's popular account on the platform grew by 733 million new likes in the first six months of 2022.
