According a survey on whether Malaysia is heading toward the right direction, as of October 2022, 72 percent of respondents admitted they felt the country was going in the wrong direction, and only 20 percent said it was in the right direction. Compared with September 2021, when the current Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob was recently appointed on August 20, 2021, 48 percent of the respondents said the country was going in the right direction. Malaysia is scheduled to hold its 15th general election on November 19, 2022.
