The share of members of municipal parliaments in Norway remains low, despite a growing immigrant population. Since 2007, the share of both western and non-western immigrants on municipal parliaments increased slightly, with the former group being marginally larger than the latter. Still, 97 percent of the municipal members in 2019 were Norwegians.
