In 2021, there were seven startups with venture capital funds in the Philippines. The country currently has three startup unicorns, or those whose valuation amounted to one billion U.S. dollars - two of which were in the fintech industry. In the same year, the majority of funders who invested in startup unicorns in the Philippines were from the United States.
