A total of 504 unaccompanied minors under 18 years applied for asylum in Norway in 2023. Of these, 250 came from Syria. Afghans made up the second largest group with 150 applicants, whereas minors from 20 other countries applied for asylum in the Nordic country that year. The annual number of asylum applications from unaccompanied minors fell significantly since the peak in 2015.
