Skilled worker index in Germany 2019-2023, by specialization

In Q4 2023, the index for the demand for skilled workers in the field of human resources in Germany was at 209 points. This was the lowest figure since 2021. Following the start of the corona crisis in the first quarter of 2020, the shortage in skilled labor rose drastically until the first quarter of 2022 and started to decline in the second quarter. Still, the skilled worker index is above the pre-pandemic level and there is still a significant lack of skilled labor in all specializations shown here.
