The Uthmaniyah Oil Field in Saudi Arabia was the leading fossil fuel extraction project worldwide in terms of lifetime emissions. Until 2018, nearly 28.3 billion tons of carbon dioxide equivalent emissions can be attributed to the oil field, which is part of the larger Ghawar Oil Field and the largest conventional onshore oil field in the world.
