In 2022, the share of aquaculture in the total production volume of fish and seafood (excluding algae) in China reached approximately 80.3 percent. This percentage has grown gradually over the years. The total production volume of of aquatic animals from both aquaculture and capture fishing reached 65.87 million metric tons in 2022.
