Frequency of using cryptocurrency wallets in Hungary 2022

Cryptocurrency wallets make the secure storage and management of cryptocurrency portfolios possible. According to the findings of a survey conducted in 2022, approximately a third of Hungary’s online population used crypto wallets. Moreover, 15 percent of them did so multiple times a day, and another 22 percent of the respondents used cryptocurrency wallets once a day.

Cryptocurrency applications

The popularity of cryptocurrencies has been rising all over the world, however, only 15 percent of Hungarians found it a reliable form of investment in 2021. Similarly to stocks, cryptocurrencies can be traded using various exchange platforms and applications. The results of a 2021 survey revealed that 14 percent of Hungarians between the ages of 18 to 29 years old used crypto apps, while among Hungarians aged 30 to 59 years old, this figure reached only six percent.

The future of cryptocurrencies

As of 2022, there were over 10 thousand different cryptocurrencies worldwide which represented a significant increase compared to the number of digital coins recorded in 2013. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that many people think crypto is the future of finance. Moreover, a smaller percentage of Hungarians believed that in 20 years’ time, crypto would be the official currency in their country, according to a survey realized in 2022.
