A survey conducted in the United Kingdom between January and March 2022 found that 59.7 percent of girls aged eight to 18 years old found inspiration for things they like to read online, compared to 45.6 percent of boys. Girls were also more likely to consider reading cool, to carry on reading if they find it challenging, and to find that their attitudes towards someone changed after reading.
