In 2024, six bottom-fixed wind farms were under construction in the northeast of France, namely the ones of Saint-Nazaire, Saint-Brieuc, Fécamp, Courseulles-sur-mer, and Iles d'Yeu et de Noirmoutier. The opening date of these plants was scheduled by 2026. Three bottom-fixed wind firm was operational in the country. The number of employees in offshore wind farms increased from around 1,800 in 2018 to almost 7,800 in 2023.
