Between August 3, 2022 and July 17, 2023, the volume of Ukrainian maize exports secured by the Black Sea Grain Initiative reached almost 17 million metric tons. Furthermore, Ukraine exported nearly nine million metric tons of wheat via its three Black Sea ports that were reopened under the agreement. On July 17, 2023, the Russian government halted its participation in the deal.
